sorry, I'm probably projecting because one of my friends is so stubborn about not being able to learn it... she can remember the rules of complex board games whose rules take 1h to read out, but once she thinks she can't do something she won't even try

However, I'm not against learning chess! It never really came up tbh, and I never went out of my way to learn. I don't think I'm incapable (Especially if there aren't all that many rules) or anything, so it's not a case of being convinced I'm bad at it, just one of inexperience.
Maybe I should buy a cheap set and give it a shot?
