Re: Oh snap, I get to talk about my MC
That sounds awesome.
I like stories about bullies growing up and being redeemed, and trying to move forward and do better. I get tired of the 'Evil irredeemable Bully" narrative. Characters like that are never going to achieve anything other than fulfill the writer's desire for revenge IMO. However a redeemable bully character might actually make a real person out there realize they're a bully and maybe motivate them to do better/work on changing their behavior.
Re: Oh snap, I get to talk about my MC
I want to leave her in a place where there's at least the hope of a better future. She'll have to work at it, and stuff won't get better overnight, but she has a shot at a happy life when she gets out of the coma.
She was inspired by a real person. I went to my high school reunion and there was this girl who was a miserable little shit in middle school and high school. And ten years later she was still a miserable little shit. She's 28 and still acting like she's 12, and there's signs that she's sick in the head. I felt sorry for her and wondered what has to happen to a person that they are mentally stuck in middle school. Hopefully nothing as bad as what I'm writing.
