i feel so dumb complaining about this, so I'm making a thread here and doing it anon

okay, so I've recently gotten back into pokémon and it's been fun yadda yadda. i'm playing OS and decide to dick around with wonder trade. it's going great put a decent pokemon in get a shit mon back usually and the occasional good mon if i'm lucky. until some dickface decides to put a goddamn shiny darkrai that's obviously some all sorts hacked. the now, i'm usually the understanding type, but not when it comes to legitimacy and my pokedex. i know this is all sort of irrational, but now the entire save file feels wrong and corrupted and since the game autosaved i can't get the shiny darkrai out of my pokedex data without restarting the game and it's driving me nuts. i could probably trade over everything and start from scratch, but i don't wanna waste that much time just to give myself some peach of mind. the person who traded me left their reddit user name info in the blurb too and ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

idec that this switched tone halfway through and just want that data out of my game.

I think people can make all the hax they want if they makes them happy and they aren't forcing us goody-two-shoes players to battle them, blah blah. So I wouldn't go after the redditor.

But I want MY games to be 100% legit, so I feel you. If I were you, I'd just trade the Darkrai away because I wouldn't start over just for that. But I'm not you and clearly the dex data bothers you.

except now if OP tries to download legit legendary pokemon from nintendo events there's a chance their game will get corrupted (nintendo's way of punishing cheaters)

like, cheat all you want if that's your thing, but sending unsolicited fake pokemon that corrupt game data?

I live somewhere without distributions, so the corrupted game thing slipped my mind. Which was stupid cause I guess that applies for the Mystery Gift internet events too...

I knew someone who didn't make fakes themselves but was really happy to get a fake shiny Sableye on Wonder Trade. But like you said, unsolicited means people like OP getting them too. I'd rather they didn't send them out like that, but I run away from confrontations.

Man, I personally don't care about fakes at all, give me all the cool shinys and rares, I've got nothing to prove.

And hey, there's always a chance it might be legitimate right? Maybe someone's restarting and just playing Good Samaritan.
