This, so much. I hate it, because obviously there are a lot of awesome female characters, but they're usually so damn *pretty*, and especially when it comes to shipping, I'm kind of turned off, because I'll see them getting with The Guy (or whoever) and some part of my brain is like "yeah, see, that can happen to her because she's pretty, whereas it would never happen to you, because look at you." I know it's stupid, but I can't always shut it off. It's been getting better, though! I've recently joined the fandom for something with a lot of (very pretty) female characters, and ship them freely, and don't even feel bad! *gets drunkenly proud of doing something that's probably pretty normal for people without chronic self-esteem issues*
