I just love this trend of "my personal anecdote negates everyone else's" that's been going on here.

And by love I mean I want it to die in a fucking fire.

I mean TBF by that standard every post in this subthread is basically useless

I wasn't invalidating or negating her comment, calm down dude.
I was simply stating my opinion and confusion because I had never heard that before.

If you can't handle that, maybe you shouldn't be on here.

When someone generalizes an entire fandom with a behavior that I have never seen in that fandom, it's pretty safe to say it's the other person who's using a personal anecdote, I.E. "I heard one person in the fandom say boys aren't allowed to watch the show, therefore that's what the whole fandom says."

Oh and don't get me wrong, I'm not stanning for the fandom. I have my own load of issues with it. That, however, is not one of them.

DA

I thought feo was referring to the puritanical fans, not "all of Steven Universe fandom"

As in, "the(se) puritanical fans are also the ones saying this is a show for women," not "all of Steven Universe fandom says this"

I wasn't intending to generalize the fandom. I was intending to generalize the people in the fandom who think writing about sex is awful and nobody should write about sex*. By and large, I would assume the people who're okay with boys watching the show aren't flat out sex-is-evil, are they?

* There's also "Don't write about sex where kids might see it!", but that's an entirely separate issue that hits on some reasonable concerns.

Basically. It's hilarious because both commenters are doing the same juvenile thing, the original one it's more obnoxious about it.
