HunterXHunter is such an odd series, if you think about it. It starts of so shouneny, but then gets /really/ dark, and then you have Greed Island and then the Chimera Ants... I wonder sometimes if Togashi wasn't fighting with his editors or something about the direction he wanted to take the story in.

Togashi can do whatever he wants and his editors can't stop him. Some of the things he did with HxH were things that he wanted to do in YYH but he wasn't allowed to.
