Since we're on a theme here, what's the longest fic you've ever written?

Longest one-shot: 7,182
Longest (WIP incomplete) series: 11,058

Longest fic or longest story? Because fic probably tops out at around 40,000 words but story... millions. Millions of words. I can't even count the millions.

I wish I could get to a million. Or at least not be so damn held back by my own deficiencies.

The longest thing I've posted: about 117,000 words
The longest thing I've ever written was a 3-part story. The parts together were about 900,000 words. But, if you want just one story, then it's the last part, which was 411,000 words.

Longest single fic will be the Kael'thas one I've been writing; 2/3 written/posted it's at @75K.

I wrote a series of five related stories -- one continuous narrative, but each fic has a different POV -- that totaled @120,000.

Current almost-completed WIP, which needs, like, two more scenes and then is DONE DONE DONE and ready for editing: 67562

My stories tend to average in the 2000-4000 word range, but I'd say I have about twenty or so in the 5000-8000 range, and I've a couple of series of inter-related stories between 10,000 and 50,000 words long. I don't really do multichapters: the 55,000 word one above was the only one of about three or four that I ever successfully completed.

4000. I mostly write short porny stuff.

It was about 250k when it finished? Did it over about 6 months to see if I could. For a dead fandom lol.

WIP from hell.

Just 30k, and it wasn't very good imo. It got good reviews because it was for a small ship though and iirc it was the first longfic for it too.

I'm really more of a 10k long oneshot kind of person. I like to think most of my ships (since I write largely shipfic) would not be so insensible so as to drag their personal pain out for much longer ~~or in other words, I'm asexual and don't know how to write drawn-out romances~~.

Roughly 24k words for a one-shot.

I have a work in progress that's.... hmm... it has about 113k words on ff.net right now, but I've been revising new chapters and there are still more to write.

So I am on that AO3 trend of writing series fics as multiple fics and not as chapters so like installments of one story as different fics? I'm not sure if that counts, but my ongoing series in that format is 18632 words.

My longest fic that is an independent fic is 8335 words.

Well shoot. I have no way of knowing that. The longest thing I've ever written can be dl'ed in two zip files that total 1528k together, a little over 700k each. I could do a word count for every chapter but - it's sixty chapters long.

So, uh....long. Heh.
