Basically, after applying through some of the companies' websites, I received information via email about the next steps. For some of them, I had to attend in-person interviews in my hometown (if you live in a big city, this is much easier). For some, I had to do telephone interviews. If you're already living in Japan, you can do interviews here easily.

As I mentioned, some do phone interviews and some do in-person interviews, so check each website for information about the process and interview locations. And, once more, please research teaching and living in Japan before you decide! (Sorry for sounding like a broken record, but I can't stress this enough!)
