I think the robots are the point.

(And to split hairs, I don't think about whether I'd fuck people on a regular basis, and I'm not asexual.)

I think I prefer androids to robots, because I like flesh covering metal to straight metal.

Aesthetically, I prefer straight metal, but in terms of doing the nasty I have to assume that flesh-covered would be more comfortable. If the robot had a transparent flesh-like covering that functioned enough like skin for them to feel through, but that I could also see through to the metal underneath ... that would be awesome.

Yeah, AI (the movie where Jude Law was a sexbot) made me realize that has serious potential.

I admit I am totally baffled about how anyone could be attracted to robots. Unless they are extremely sensual and human-looking, I suppose. But transformers and shit, I just don't get it. to each their own, I guess.

They don't do anything for me sexually, either. But if fandom is any indication, it's not a terribly uncommon thing.

Not if they're actually intelligent. Like robots as they exist now, yeah. But if one actually was sapient then they'd be a person, even if not human. (It's a concept that's super fun to explore in fiction imo!)
