Okay, I don't know the specifics here, but: why would people complain/be put off by a woman playing a leading man's role in a Takarazuka show?! That's kind of what they do.

I was going to say this. It's not like Mamoru isn't played by a man in other live action Sailor Moon shows, so to get angry at a purposefully all-female troupe is weird.

Petite Entrange isn't a Takarazuka show, though, it's just a Sailor Moon musical.

The new Myu are are often referred to as a "Takarazuka musical" because the cast for the musicals are exclusively women.

*To clarify, it doesn't matter if all of the cast are Takarazuka actors or not, the new Sailor Moon musicals are intentionally emulating Takarazuka shows

I mean sure, maybe it's referred to as that, but it's not a Zuka production just because there are a handful of Zuka OGs in it. It's not like you can go to the hanshin site and have this musical listed or buy this musical's merc from official Zuka shops.

I mean, I can get some people being puzzled that a Sailor Moon musical has a woman playing Mamoru. They might not know what to expect. Some of them are really nasty about it, though, and for those people I can only say maybe they should just watch the old musicals.

The people who are offended by Mamoru being played by a woman would be offended whether the production was done by the Takarazuka Revue or not and I never said that the musical was an actual production of the Takarazuka Revue :P
I think we may be arguing about completely different things but not realizing it.
