Today's MRA are my age. I remember watching that show when it was on and not understanding any of it because I was like 10 years old. Your timeline is off by 5-10 years

It sounds like you're about the same age as me, and I remember watching that show and thinking Al was badly treat and feeling sorry for him. If I'd not grown up to realise that I was supposed to hate him and find his suffering Karmic, I can see how that mindset might have fed into an MRA attitude.

What you got out of it or saw in the show was not what everyone watching got out of it, seeing as all of us didn't turn into MRAs and neither did you even if you saw Al as the good guy at one point
