The cast doesn't remotely remind people of the Fantastic 4, though, which is part of the issue. the other issues are that apparently a) the screenplay sucks and b) the studio made them cut out parts so now it makes even less sense.

Actually, the parts that make sense are the reshoots the studio put in.
