American Idol? Master Chef? So You Think You Can Dance? Any of those shows where they start with hundreds and slowly whittle it down to one supreme winner (who will probably never be heard from again, unless their names are Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson).

Anybody into these types of shows, and which ones? Or are these shows just totally lame?

Or are they totally lame but you like them anyway?

I like Masterchef, SYTYCD, America's Got Talent, and The Voice. :)

I like Masterchef, Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Cupcake Wars. I like watching the different techniques they use and flavor combinations, and I like the competition aspect...as opposed to someone just talking at me about cooking for 30 minutes.

Those shows make me want to be a chef. I enjoy cooking but am nowhere NEAR that level - but they make me want to be.

The only TV show of that kind I actually remember to keep up with is Master Chef but I like to watch The Voice, Britain's got Talent and the Great British Bake off when I can as well.

I watched Cycles 1-10 of America's Next Top Model and absolutely loved it. Got a postcard from the third place of Cycle 1 and ended up meeting one of the contestants in Europe from a later cycle.

I watch all reality shows with Gordon Ramsay because I really want to bang him.

This is solid reasoning and I support this. :P

Mostly because he is ridiculously bangable.

God, I love that show

Project Runway. Love that show.

Face Off is my favorite because it's relatively drama-free. Okay, so occasionally there's tension/a little passive aggression in group challenges, but it's not going to be like other competitions where people are holding nasty grudges for weeks on end, bad-mouthing and disrespecting each other.

This is a show where contestants will frequently drop what they're doing on their own project to help others (usually in the process of making/opening/cleaning the molds). They all know the others would/will help them too; in the real world, it's a collaborative art.

Came here to say this! Face Off has ruined all other reality competitions for me because everyone is just so dang likeable.

The Great British Bake-Off. That's the only one I actually like, the rest I find somewhere between tedious and insulting in its stupidity (looking at you, "I'm a Celebrity...").

Australian Masterchef, Brother vs Brother when it's on are probably the only two I watch.

That tattooing competition show for the same reason I used to religiously watch America's Next Top Model: art and pretty pictures.

There was a show called Gladiators I loved.

All the cooking shows (Masterchef, Top Chef, Cutthroat Kitchen, Iron Chef). Project Runway. Top Model. SYTYCD. I like most of them except the singing ones. For some reason I don't like singing shows.

Great British Bake Off! Series 6 has just started. :)

The Voice.

I watch SYTYCD and Ink Master. I liked the sing off despite Nick Lachey.

I LOVE Halloween Wars on Food Network. Watching it together has become an annual tradition for my family.
