Some people are just really, honestly terrible with names. I know if I'm watching two shows with anything even remotely in common (period, genre, there are significant characters who look even vaguely alike), I'll mix up character names when talking about them with unholy frequency. I know who the characters are, I can keep them straight when watching the show, but for the love of god don't ask me to actually put a name to them.

Saying "the blond guy, you know, the one with the hand" is slightly less embarrassing than referring to Jaime Lannister as Rochefort.
