Its not exactly a TW but it can be a little sensitive, so I am gonna put why I am upset in a second comment for discussion of pet illness/death

My cat very suddenly got very sick last night and I really thought she was going to die. She is old (18) and suddenly couldn't walk or move very much, even though like an hour before she had been fine and acting completely normal. She is still alive today (thank god) but we took her to the vet who basically told us unless we want to put her through a bunch of invasive and stressful tests, she doesn't know what it is but said maybe her heart. Since she is so old I don't really think putting her through that is for the best, especially since she isn't in any pain at the moment.

My cat is doing a little better today (she can move again and is more alert) but she still hasn't eaten and I am really worried about her. I've raised her since she was a kitten, and this illness is so sudden its really upset me.

So anyway, could I get some happy links in the meantime? Or if you would rather, just turn this into a vent thread. I don't know.

Oh, anon, that sucks. I had something very similar happen a few years ago. My cat had been unwell for a while though, but then one day it got worse. We took her to the vet hoping he might help but knowing he might have to put her down. I had her for 17 years, since she was a kitten. Broke my heart. My dad had died only 3 months earlier, so this was a whole new blow.

It took years for me to consider getting a new cat and now that I have one I sometimes call her by the wrong name by accident and it always makes me feel awful.

This isn't what you asked for though, you wanted happy.
