Re: Asexuality, demisexuality, etc

I feel bad about when I told someone a couple of years ago who said they were demisexual something along the lines of "that's what society wants", but not in a dismissive way. Unfortunately, I bet it did come across as dismissive.

I still do believe that's the ideal in some environments (like the generally conservative one where the person was), while in others (sex-positive circles, horny teenager-land, horny adult-land, uh...) it gets laughed off.

I agree with this comment, but I think demisexual could be an orientation in itself for someone who doesn't have enough information to say who they'd potentially be attracted to.

Asexual I believe is legit too, and here goes the disclaimer that I don't think it being legit means you shouldn't consider that you may have symptoms of a medical condition.
