Re: Unpopular or Controversial Fandom Opinions

There are people who think that by doing this they will Expose The Farcical Evil Feminists/SJWs For What They Really Are, 4channers like to troll pretending to do this for example, they've pulled a couple of really poorly researched scams for the purpose of trying to make feminists look bad.

I've known quite a few "out there" feminists and they just don't sound like this. This just sounds like the humourless hate-hate-hate cliche that MRAs throw around. Why wouldn't some of these insecure bored hate-filled basement dwellers like to spend their time ineffectually trying to make radicals look bad?

Well, obviously. We've had some idiot SJW trolls who did the exact same thing only in reverse, though. Radicals of both sides are fucking stupid. But in this case, the troll isn't even trying. I can't really imagine them as a troll with an agenda, more like a random troll who badly trolls in every direction.

Also, I grow automatically suspicious of people who say "it's always THE EVIL MRAs! REAL feminists would NEVER do this". Both sides have fucking assholes who troll badly.

I'm sure REAL feminists pretend to be MRAs, but my point was that the radfem-presenting troll around here sure doesn't sound like a radfem to me, they sound more like someone's idea of one. I mean, you know they could be, blahblahblah, but if there really was someone so sincerely fucking deranged about men as that, I doubt they'd have a bar of fandom and bother coming here regularly, the radfems I've encountered wouldn't touch 99.5% of all published work with a bargepole.

Oh no, I actually don't think they're a radfem NOR an MRA. I just think they're a bored troll with no real connection to either side who doesn't have anything better to do than to badly try to "profit" from the whole MRA/radfem bullshit.

different anon:

I have to ask - what does MRA stand for? I feel like I should know but nothing is easily coming to mind.

Men's Rights Activist. They're usually the antithesis to radfems and/or tumblr SJWs.
