...Well, that's a depressing way to think. As someone who thinks about death more than is probably healthy, I understand where you're coming from; it can be hard to shut off, even if you hate it.

I haven't thought about that, but I have thought about the fact that since pretty much all the celebrities I'm fannish about are older than me, I will most likely outlive them, and I worry about how I will take it when the inevitable eventually happens. :/

I get it, OP. It especially sucks if they're smack-dab in the middle of a project and it goes unfinished. Of course, I refer more to authors and musician types, but same kind of fear.

I've heard huge rumors of older bands reuniting at some date in the near future and I'll cross my fingers going "please don't keel over before I get to see you." And I know that's awful because as others have said, living creatures die regardless, and nothing is really set in stone.
