Abstract philosophical hypotheticals are useful to take seriously because they allow us to examine our intuitions and assumptions in a new light and come to a deeper understanding of them.

Your conclusions are probably correct, but, like, that's kind of beside the point of the exercise

And it's okay not to like that kind of thing so I'm not even sure why I'm making this comment, except I guess that I want to defend the idea that it's not pointless even if you don't like
