Time-travel what.

I haven't watched Hannibal past the Red Dragon arc, but time-travel???? That's way too far-fetched for Hannibal, I think??? Or are we finally going full-blown Silent Hill. Seriously can someone spoiler me.

I don't know if it's coherent enough to be a theory, but in that scene where Will wakes up at home and Hannibal is sitting beside his bedside at the end of 3a? Hannibal is writing mathematical formulas in a notebook. Supposedly (because I haven't heard this from TPTB), those formulas are for time travel.

I figured it was more a very small character beat than WE'RE GOING TO TIME TRAVEL, GUYS: Hannibal waiting for Will to wake up and wondering about where it all went wrong (for Hannibal's version of "wrong").

In the books, Lecter is obsessed with the idea of time travel as a way of saving his sister Mischa from her fate. (This is most often expressed by Lecter trying to find a way to reassemble a shattered tea cup.) I believe at one point in the book Hannibal there's a reference to the fact that Lecter has created a genius formula that eventually devolves into nonsense.

Is his sister ever mentioned outside of Hannibal Rises? I thought most people ignore that one along with the ending to the Hannibal book?

She's first mentioned in 'Hannibal', where it's also established she was killed & eaten by soldiers holding them both captive.
