X-Files (spoilers within)
-D.P.O.: Great, great music. Also, Jack Black!
-Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose: What a sad episode. The story was amazing. I loved how the psychic foretold his own death. The payoff for that was amazing.
-The List: The last ten minutes terrified me. Very horror movie-esque.
-The Walk: had a really great ending.
-Oubliette: Fantastic and creepy episode. I am a big fan of true crime so this was great. Also, Mulder was lovely in it.
I am now watching War of the Coprophages. Hilarious episode. I love the whole "calling Scully" bit. And how even Scully is like, "Mulder this is ridiculous. DON'T BREAK INTO GOVERNMENT PROPERTY."
Everyone who said Season 3 is when X-Files gets good was right. It really does.

(Anonymous) 2015-08-15 01:57 am (UTC)(link)The List / The Walk / Oubliette is a pretty effective creepy-horror trio of episodes. But the really relevant one here, for me, is Clyde Bruckman's Last Repose. Probably my favorite episode ever. It's so, so sad, and so, so brilliant. And Peter Boyle does such an incredible job. He's so sweet, and so sad. And it's so rich thematically, and has so much humor in with the sadness and... ugh. It's so good.
It's worth noting at this point that the same guy wrote Clyde Bruckman, and also War of the Coprophages, and also Humbug from season 2 (the one with the circus performers). He also wrote one other episode later in season 3. An amazing, amazing writer.
God what a great run of episodes.

Also, OMG the cockroach over the screen. I bet that was really awesome back in the day when full screen was a thing.
