I think sex is still important even if you're not having it or don't want to have it. After all, if you don't want to have it but you feel pressured to, like what happened with you and your gf, it winds up being kind of a big issue, right?

It's not having sex that's important, it's what sex means to the people in a relationship that's important.

It's not about feeling pressure. It's about feeling like there's a problem with the relationship because it doesn't look the way people say it's supposed to look even though we're both actually fine with the way things are.

I dunno. To me that's a form of pressure, because it's all about getting you to do something you don't actually want to do just to conform to what someone else wants.
