Okay, I'll take you up on it and I think I'll start watching it tonight, since I have a bunch of free time right now.

And now that I watched the first episode and the preview for the second, I can say Anthy is hardcore as hell. Like...

Uthena: "Why is the Rose Bride smiling? /shoujo flowers petals scenary"

Anthy: "The f*cking apocalypse \m/"

Anthy is SUPER interesting. It took her a while to grow on me - I liked her at first, then found her pretty low-key for a while, but then she makes a hell of a comeback.

It's so difficult to say anything about only the first episode. I know though that it intrigued me in a way that not a lot of anime manage. There's something really classy about it.
(be warned, though, the opening-the-rose-gate song sequence repeats in full for every. single. battle)

Yeah, I've been paying really close attention to her and her reactions are incredibly subtle. I don't think I'd be able to really notice on first watch if I didn't know about the spoilers, though. lol

The rose gate song is... really interesting.... "chlamydia! bacteria! apocalypse!" etc. Still, it's like the series keeps slapping you with HINTS, but you just really get them after watching it at least two or three times all together.
