I'm really loving season 5 so far! It has shades of 3A which is my all time favorite season. And it's scary!

I loved season 3A (and 3B for that matter, but fans seem more split on that one) so this kind of makes me want to check it out. Should I even bother with season 4 before watching it or do you think I could just skip it, read some summaries, and be okay? (I watched the first episode of season 4 when it came out and never bothered with the rest because I found it really dull/irritating)

(I really enjoyed the first part of S3 as well. I liked all the werewolf lore they dropped in that half.)

S4's a bit more light-hearted and is more in line to what S1 and S2 were like, don't expect the 'villains' in S4 to be well-thought out though, it'll make your head hurt, that's all I have to say about it. I really liked some of the new characters they brought in but I hated Derek's new love interest in S4, she basically takes up all the scenes with Derek in it.

Uh, you'll probably be okay if you decide not to watch S4, as they haven't really made any references to it, yet. But what you should probably know is that Scott bites a classmate and that classmate ends up becoming his beta. He (the beta) is a regular on S5 and he's got a human friend too.

I can say that S5's definitely darker, there's a lot of in-fighting (and withholding of information) in Scott's pack which is interesting to watch. I'm kinda angry that they revealed one of the villains in the first few episodes, I wish they would've kept us guessing for a bit :/ but there's a lot of stuff that hasn't been explained yet so I'm waiting for it to play it out.

The music in the first few episodes in S5 were gorgeous, I downloaded the songs as soon as I got the chance.

*perks up* so I DON'T need to bother with season 4 /same boat as AYRT

I really liked some of the music in S2 and S3 so glad to hear S5 returns to that :D

OP here.

Not at all, you can read some summaries if you want. Just know that Malia and Liam (the new beta) are big characters in s 5.

Season 4 is ridiculously bad, I actually recommend not seeing it lest it ruin your love for the show.

Yeah I fell off the wagon cause everyone was so annoyed with it. Might give a episode a go then bail to summaries. I quite enjoyed s3, s1 and 2 were good mindless after work episode but s3 I got invested!

There was some good music in S4 too. I really liked of Verona's Breathe, Jerome Holloway's Who will love me, Kenshin's Starlight, Justin Nozuka's Sweet lover and Deorro's Cayendo.

Oh yes almost forgot, there's a police officer in S3 that had a bigger role in S4. You find out he's a supernatural being but they never find out what kind he is. He just recently started getting a bigger role in the latest episodes of S5.

So...you're not bothered by them introducing a bunch of bland characters and dividing up Derek's role in a weird and piece-meal way? Okay.
