Squick is a fantastically useful word, particularly because it's non-blamey and morally neutral. Doesn't mean you think other people can't enjoy it. You just ind it squicky.

In theory, they ought to fill two different semantic spaces - 'trigger' meaning something that actually causes flashbacks or other serious mental distress. Self-cest squicks me, but it's not a trigger,* and I don't think there's anything wrong with people enjoying it. It just squicks me.

Unfortunately a lot of the time people seem to use 'trigger' when 'squick' would be closer to what they mean.

*Granted, I can't imagine how it could be, but you get the point.
