I'd never see this version. That hurt, thanks OP. :(

Aww, I definitely know songs that hit me harder now because of the passage of time than when I first heard them, too. And Muppets + sentimental/darker songs are kind of a go-to "who's cutting onions?" place.

Weird, I was thinking of this exact sketch from The Muppet Show just st this morning.

I'm pretty sure Jim Henson voiced that one and tbh, hearing his voice gets me a little teary eyed in general. It's a lot of lovely nostalgia from my childhood and not really wanting to think about the fact that he's dead. :(

I've never seen this version...I'm not sure I want to now, though it sounds good!

(Gonna be that person to say that now when I hear this song I just see Quicksilver.)

I didn't know this song. It's beautiful. Thanks, OP.

Anything to do with nostalgia and the passage of time chokes me up these days, OP. You're not alone. :(

God damn, The Rainbow Connection alone makes me cry like a baby these days. I can't be going deeper like that. I'll never recover.

For me, it's 'Just One Person,' especially the version sung at Henson's memorial. Gets me every time. Statler and Waldorf's version of 'It Was a Very Good Year' often gets to me, too. And, more recently, 'Pictures in my Head,' from the movie. All of them are guaranteed to get me at least a bit misty...

This was my parents' wedding song, too. Inevitable emotional meltdown when I hear it.
