I liked Darcy fine in the first movie (I liked Jane better) but not enough to want to read all those fics about her. I wouldn't say she's *always* a self-insert character...but I can definitely think of a couple of authors who I think use her as a self-insert. (Their version of Darcy is never as awesome to me as they seem to think she is.)

I still check out fics with her as a main character is they're otherwise intriguing to me but I'm more likely to skip one with her as the female lead than one with almost any other Marvel woman as the female lead. Especially if there's shipping.
