Ugh, Blue is the Warmest Color is so shitty and the sex scenes are just...well, there's a reason that many people in the lesbian community constantly make fun of this movie. The sheer awkward hilarity of the sex scenes was almost enough to make the movie at least the fun kind of hateable but even that was ruined when I read about how the director was an abusive asshole to the actresses

Yeah, you can definitely tell that the sex scenes were directed by a straight dude so that they could be wanked over by other straight dudes (but, hell, even then I know a couple of straight guys who went "what the hell?" when they watched the sex scenes. They're that dumb. It completely baffled me when I read reviews from people who thought they were genuinely arousing. It doesn't help that the actresses looked kind of miserable during them)
