Does anyone else still go there and refresh their flist from time to time even though nothing actually happens anymore?

Yes.

My flist is still pretty active, but I follow a lot of communities. I actually just started looking again after a couple of months of being on hiatus. It isn't as active as it used to be, but it is still active.

My flist is super active because of a select few communities, but that's about it.

The activity level does seem way down just compared to 2 months ago. It used to be I'd get several pages of entries on my flist a day. Today it was about a page.

I wonder what happened. It was kind of dying before, but it seems weird to have such a decline in 2 months.

Summer maybe? I know the internet used to go in such flux way back when. Either people would post constantly or vanish all summer.

NAYRT (AND replying late/early), but yeah, I agree. Half my flist is mostly updating to say "I've been away in such and such a place!" Plus, summer generally means you want to be outdoors, and that's not such a great place for LJ. It's the same reason F!S has been quieter.

My flist is more active now than it was when I was on LJ back in the day.

There are still a few people, and comms I follow on there that post things.

On the subjetc of nearly dead, dead journal sites: Does anyone know if Journalfen is ever actually coming back?

Yup. Got a couple of oldies who post every month or so and I like to see what's up.

My problem isn't as much activity as it is boredom. I got LJ for fandom, and now that there's no fandom, there's not that much I'm really interested in reading about.

Yes. I find more people I actually relate to now, when most of the rabids have gone off to tumblr etc. The tempo might be slower, but (the older)people are often friendlier and more considerate (fewer BNFs give each comment more worth).

*sigh* Yes. :( A few people on my flist still update, but nothing like it was in the old days.

Used to. But then when I degraded my account to back to basic, lj wouldn't let me see more than five entries on my flist, so I said 'fuck it' and deleted my account. None of my flist was updating anymore, so there was no real reason for me to keep visiting the site.
