oh man fucking Bungle in the Jungle. One fine specimen of an entire species of terrible fucking HP fic. How the hell "Dumbledore is evil and Ginny is mind-controlling Harry into loving her" became a fandom trope I will never know.

For the Dumbledore thing, initially it was some popular fic probably but also because of people who think in black and white and/or lack understanding of nuance.

Honestly I always felt like this trend was partly due to teens full of angst who want to make their fave character just like them.

For the Ginny thing. Denial I guess. I've seen people who admit that they cling to the "love potion" theory because they prefer it to the idea of Ginny ending up with Harry.

Yeah, like... it's one thing to not agree with what Dumbledore did or think the romance was poorly developed - I kinda agree with that - but acting like mind-control is more logical is just plain ridiculous.
