Bacon chocolate

(Anonymous) 2015-08-18 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I kept hearing about this stuff online. Then a store near me started selling it, so I took one piece. I liked it a lot, and the store sells it at a really high price and I don't want to get in trouble, so I'd rather not take things without paying over and over.

You stole it?

No, the store gives out free samples of stuff sometimes.

So, buy it?

Yeah, my problem is it's really expensive. :( I can see why, but it's annoying.

It's okay that it's expensive. That will keep you from deciding that bacon-chocolate should be your sole source of nutrition. ;)

Your point?

If it's about shoplifting, I do that sometimes.

Can't you just melt down some regular lower priced chocolate and dump some bits of bacon into it? Or am I getting the concept of bacon chocolate wrong here?

Well, you shouldn't be eating chocolate covered bacon regularly anyways. So, buy 3-4 pieces like once a month as a treat. Or make your own. It isn't that hard if you know how to cook bacon.

You can probably make it yourself. Fry up some bacon, pat dry so it's not greasy, get those chocolate melty wafer things or almond bark (in the baking aisle, near the chocolate chips) and go to town.

There's several different brands that make bacon chocolate. Shop around and see if there's one that's a bit more reasonable (Trader Joe's makes a cheaper chili one that my boss loves)

I like Vosges Dark Chocolate Bacon one. They sell it at World Market and Fresh Market and I buy it on sale.
