I only just last year got into Marathon. And now the only people around to talk to about it are assholes. Classic PC (or Mac as the case may be) gaming circles suck.

Can't argue with that, unfortunately. I used to attend a pretty consistent LAN group, but they were sort of a beautiful anomaly in that they were cool about stuff and we were co-ed even at the time, so my experience was great. But trying to relive it lately has been a real shitshow.
