Okay, but this is true for ANY fictional character. The narrative invites us to be drawn into the lives of fictional people and care about their fictional problems. And yeah, sometimes you'll not connect with that - but the characters here are not specifically badly written.

Yes, thank you. I wish it was understood that not connecting with a character doesn't necessarily make them a bad character, not finding something funny/romantic/scary doesn't necessarily mean it isn't funny/romantic/scary. That's just you. It is such a bizarrely narcissistic way of consuming media. My fiancee absolutely adores slice of life anime. It puts me to sleep. Strangely enough, that doesn't actually mean that slice of life anime is boring and unwatchable. That's just my take, and I spend approximately 0% of my life trying to make her see the error of her tastes. Devoting any amount of time trying to prove something is bad because it didn't resonate with you personally makes me think you don't really understand what an opinion is.

Bit of a tangent, but whatever. :)
