Wow, are you reading a lot into what I said. Did you read what I wrote?

Because I said it wouldn't stop me from reading a fic, so I'm not missing out on anything.
And I also said that I acknowledge that they are useful on tumblr, meaning all the points you said about searching/tagging.

Regarding the rest, my opinions are based on experience. There are some people who use portmanteaus and write great fics. They exceed my expectations. But that is very rare. Most of the time I get exactly what I expect to get, which is subpar. So I have correspondingly managed my expectations.

And I'm not going to apologize or explain the fact that they bug me. They just do. Calm down.
