Can't comment on Starsky and Hutch (though you make me want to know more), but this is very similar to my view on the platonic relationship between Reese and Finch in Person of Interest.

Piracy is absolutely RUINOUS for video games publishers.

There are plenty of free games online.

If you want to play a video game but can't afford the one you want then play a free game. You're not entitled to one that requires payment.

Poor people have the right to entertainment.

But NO ONE has the right a a specific form of entertainment or piece of media.

If you can't afford my book, you don't get to take it without paying me. Doing so makes you a thief.

If you're poor, then save up for it or look for an alternative -- there are plenty.

If you have internet access, there are plenty of free books online. There are more stories online than you could read in one lifetime.

2. There are plenty of free/cheap forms of entertainment that people can get legally.
3. If people still want to torrent, that's fine. Just don't act like it's their God-given right.
4. And since I'm sure somebody will throw out the oh-so-clever "check your privilege" or "you sound white", I grew up in a poor Hispanic household before the internet and still managed to entertain myself.
