I was one of those people who lamented the demise of fandom on LJ (And still do, at times; forever bitter about comms becoming near extinct) so I absolutely agree with you on tumblr. I say this as someone who enjoys it quite a lot (And spends way too much time on it) but it's a completely different platform than LJ was. With LJ, yea, it was easy to find a community of people with the same interests as you, and to avoid the stuff you didn't want; with tumblr everything is in the tag, and unless you tumblr savior rather vigorously (And I use the app, so none for me) you're going to get a bit of everything.

There's been a few posts in Kingsman fandom about people bashing Harry/Eggsy because it was disgusting or something (I think those people forgot Eggsy is of age because I saw the word pedo), but I haven't seen the hate myself. I guess it's always around, no matter what you do. (On the flipside, apparently a user was called homophobic for not shipping it. I don't even know at this point, I'm just staying out of it. I wish people could just ship or not ship in peace, without drama.)

But basically, I agree; it would be nice if you could be more selective when searching, that's just not how tumblr works.

Good luck?

Hartwin anon from last night and...aside from feeling like people on Tumblr throw the term "Pedo" around way too much, FFS, Eggsy can't be younger than 7 at the opening of the film in 1997, so naturally, 17 years later, in 2014, he'd be at least 24. (I might give you 6 for the opening scene, but that'd still make him 23, which, yeah, still makes him of age, last I checked. And Taron's 25 turning 26 and even HE jokes about the characters being lovers. Good Lord.)

FFS, tumblr.

Yea! I saw a post on tumblr from Eggsy's interrogation scene and the papers say he's 23. That is definitely of age; even if you have an issue with the huge age difference or power imbalance (Which, fair enough) it doesn't make Harry some awful sleeze or Eggsy some baby.

Plus, he met young Eggsy for like two minutes... Not exactly long enough for him to get attached or have trouble shaking the mental image.

Maybe it's because of some of the fanart of young Eggsy and Harry? I've never seen any sexual stuff (thank god), but there is some fluffy fanart of the two. I doubt the people who draw it are shippers, but anything is possible. Still, if people have a problem with that... It isn't even canon, that's sections of the fandom.

Taron totes ships it. He's said Eggsy and Harry have a father/son mentor relationship a few times but I've also seen him give an interviewer the weirdest look for suggesting such a thing, and then there's the interview where he's asked about the breakfast scene and he implies that Harry/Eggsy isn't out of the question. At the very least he doesn't seem creeped out by the idea.
