It varies from level to level. In my state, there are several tribes that have made it a point to educate people and encourage high schools to get rid of their Native American logos/nicknames. Some communities have resisted. Some have changed logos/nicknames/mascots on their own. In college, you have to have permission from the tribe (like Florida State University and the Seminole tribe).

For professional sports, it's a bit different. Some are unabashedly racist (the mascot of the Cincinnati Reds, or the nickname of Washington D.C.'s football team) but it comes down to dollars and cents. Are fans upset enough to stop going to games and/or buy merchandise? Without a profit incentive, I don't have much hope that things will change soon. Native Americans are such a small part of the population of the U.S. that a lot of people don't even think about racism against them.

The Chicago Blackhawks were named after a person, and their mascot isn't a horrible caricature. Most people are fine with that.

Minor correction: It's the Cleveland Indians logo that's unabashedly racist (his name is Chief Wahoo). The Reds are just called that because they wore red uniforms way back in the day.

But yeah, there's a range of things, with the Blackhawks on one end of the spectrum, and the Washington football team on the other. I do think people are starting to take it more seriously. See: the increasing popularity of calling it "the Washington football team".

If you assumed that all AMAB people were pedophiles, then you would be transphobic. But thinking that one specific one might be due to proof that they were doing gross things to manipulate minors? Nah, especially since you sound trans yourself. (Depending on how you read GNC. Some GNC people are cis, so I can't tell)

Honestly, people have faked gender before to isolate victims and gain trust. Online SJ doesn't like to talk about it, because the conservative Christians like to say all LGBT people are pedophile/abusers/etc but it's come out with some of the predators infiltrating the community to try and get more victims.
