FIMfiction has a "groups" function. I run a group for really short stories, so if your story is short, you can add it. Other groups are for genres, pairings, story elements, author traits (e.g. Christian writers or gay writers), coordinating reviews, and so on. I think it's a good model, though I'm not sure which other fandoms have anything like it.
