To be fair...several pedophile rings have been busted in Europe. All involving officials in high places. And it is mostly being swept under the rug.

And there have been rumors of pedophile rings being used by high profile politicians and celebrities in the US for years.

So yeah, people are a bit wary of pedophiles or mentions of.

But realistically, your average "artist on Tumblr who writes high school AUs/draws fictional adult men with somewhat youthful faces/has SebaCiel artwork in their favorites" still isn't likely to be either one.
