It seems to be an unpopular opinion among my liberal friends that if you have a job, you should do it, and if you don't do it, it's not because you're standing up to The Man and fighting the evil corporations that exist to swallow us, it's that you're not doing your job. Furthermore, souring business means you're hurting your colleagues, who actually are working hard.

I don't know if this is actually a popular thought overall, or if it's the company I tend to keep.

That sort of thing. Also, my coworker who showed up late most of the time, and would pester my boss about her paycheck. They finally fired her and she was shocked.

AYRT - Yeah, same. I'm completely in agreement with that, and I also think corporate CEOs and other executive management types tend to be pretty damn corrupt. But you're not screwing them over. You're screwing over people in the middle. And also, your customers, who really can't help that you don't like your job/The Man/whatever.

Ohmygod yes. Dude at work (or was, he is officially gone now I think) is NOT standing up to the man - he's just fucking himself over (he will never be able to get a job in our sector after this) and upsetting a lot of ppl in the process.

But he's so convinced he's right and anyone who doesn't agree is wrong it's just baffled. He's still on our private FB (honestly he should be removed as he's no longer a worker) ranting about how we're all supporting "the platform". What platform. What the hell are you on about?
