This is unpopular?

Everything is auto-tune and instant and written by other people except for the performer. There's no substance to anything in the mainstream; you'll have to dig a little deeper for something of quality.

Oh wow, I didn't realize we had an army. If you'll notice, I didn't say ALL music today was shitty. If you're fine with twerking like Miley, then knock yourself out. If you want something of quality, you will have to go beyond the mainstream. Don't get mad at me, it's just a fact. I know you'd like to pretend 1D is the voice of a generation, or that Taylor Swift is some kind of musical genius, but it just isn't so. The sooner you face it, the better off we'll all be.

1) Not exactly disproving the old-fart-saying-typical-old-fart-stuff label here
2) I'm not a fan of any of those artists as I too am an old fart, I'm simply an old fart with more self awareness than you who knows that back in our day, our parents had the exact same complaint about the music we think is good.

Okay but you're making a distinction between what's mainstream and what you can find if you dig deeper. OP is saying ALL music made in the past 15 years is bad. In other words, even if you dig deeper, there's nothing good to be found. At all. Anywhere.
