I bought my iPad minis to mess around with Google Maps and almost nothing else.

Don't worry, OP, lots of people buy tablets just for kicks. YANA. Finding out later that they are also useful is great too, but if that never happens, don't sweat it. I was able to do about two thirds of my community college homework with my tablet. If that hadn't happened, I think I would still be happy with my purchase.
