My very first immediate thought would be that applying anerica/tumblr white and POC terms to Australia would quickly exclude our mixed minorities. Ie, aboriginal, maori and other "white appearing" Pacific Islanders. So I agree with your other comment I think? Now I'm confused. Im really only fed up with all the American style white/POC being used in the mmfr fandom when those actors are not white. But I've seen it pop into other non-American fandoms and it's just can u not.

Yeah I'll agree with that. Australia's got some unique history and racial politics there. (Like, my brother in law is most probably part-Aboriginal as he passes as "white" but everyone is skirting around it. Friend's ex-husband only found out he was when he was an adult. I've been meaning to read Am I Black Enough For You?) The US concepts of whiteness thing gets really stupid when it involves Europeans, like talking about Scarlet Witch / Quicksilver casting. Or "Asianwashing" to complain that the Attack on Titan movie has Japanese actors... really? Etc
