I'm sorry anon, im not sure what you asked.

Like there's very definitely racist history for both but they played out in different ways so what might be okay definitions in one place becomes completely not okay in another due to various things that happened? So I would not say they're parallel?

Sorry, I should have been more clear.

The parallel I was talking about was the parallel between Americans trying to comment authoritatively on Australian racial dynamics, and Australians talking about American racial dynamics. I just don't think that you have the knowledge or standing to do that, as the other anon said. With all the good will in the world.

Oh! Lol I see! Sorry we've been having two different convos with each other XD.

In that case I agree. Even though I think they're stupid terms I don't care if they continue to be used in American context. It's when they leave the American context and start encroaching on others that I get cranky.
