Eh, reading is reading, OP. I've definitely read published books worse written than what I'm willing to put up in fanfic, and it's not like there's never any smut in published literature by popular authors.

Personally, I've been thinking of getting an e-reader because I occasionally like to read tie-in novels for certain popular video game and TV franchises (so essentially, officially endorsed fanfic), and buying those in ebook format would be much cheaper than ordering physical copies from America or the UK.
