Lots of people fall in love with someone who happens to be mentally ill. It can certainly have it's trials but you're not destined to be alone.

Somebody probably will love you. I'm fucking crazy and bafflingly I've always found guys into me.

The catch is that they might be a bit craz or eccentric themselves, which is okay, as long as they're not actually making you mental health worse.

Not sure what gender you are, but if you're a girl into guys, I promise you there are a whole subset of men who are attracted to mentally ill women. They find it romantic or something. It's half the unpredictability of the illness making your relationship exciting, half the belief that they can protect and/or cure you.

So that's another issue, avoiding some of these men, who can be more into that dynamic than you as a person.

I've seen it described as the Betty Blue effect, after an 80s film with some attractive crazy French chick in it (not seen it myself).

I'm gonna be the jerk here, and say, straight out, that Mickey has always struck me as a budding psychopath. At the very least he'll be first in line for an Antisocial Personality Disorder diagnosis when he reaches adulthood. So the fact that Ian has the poor judgement and lack of self-preservation to want Mickey in his life has always just seemed annoying and sad to me.

I do believe that Mickey deserves/deserved to be loved, but the people I feel he deserved to be loved by were his parents. Maybe then he would have grown up to be someone who deserved to be loved by others.

But considering that you feel this connection with fictional characters, and considering that you're on the internet sharing your feelings with other people, I highly doubt you're the kind of sadistic asshole Mickey is. And THAT'S why you deserve to be loved, and why somebody probably will love you.
