It's not a thing to take to the counsellors, it's a thing to take to the health centre on campus, or the campus clinic or whatever your school happens to call it. Counsellors usually have minimal training and are unable to give formal diagnoses, whereas seeing a psychiatrist will go a long way toward solving your issues.

Ah okay I misunderstood. Unfortunately that is not free at my school (just looked it up) and I am broke at the moment so I still can't do that for a couple weeks. Might try it when I get my next paycheck though.

I would if I were you. Not only is there a lot of leeway attached to a doctor's note in terms of what can be done to school records and accomodations... it might be useful to you on a personal level to have a better plan of attack next time you have a similar problem rather than just trying to tough it out.
