For me, I think that some of the "darker" characters I like, part of what makes them "safe" is the fact that as the viewer, we see many facets of them and aspects of their psyche, so we know what they really feel and think.
We don't get that luxury IRL, so I'd probably feel unsafe around a bunch of them. Though at the same time, I'm not sure if I actually have a crush on them, or just really like them/like watching them. It's probably more wish-fulfillment in the sense that I'd want to (temporarily) be them. Most of them have superpowers, which is a big factor.

Banter and joking around is a thing I quite like irl, but most plotty things don't devote enough time to that for me to tell if the characters really have the same sense of humor I do.
