No, I'm not adopted. We have two to three hundred year old engravings of ancestors that look just like me. They had brown eyes.

Yes, I know genetics would argue.

Hey, I look at my horse's lineage and what his full sister looks like, and I go: "how the fuck did I end up with a gray horse?!" all the time.

6 generations of lineage, there are 36 dark bays (almost black horses, but have brown coats), 12 chestnuts (redheads) and 5 grays. His father is a gray, and his mother is a dark bay, and his full sister is a liver chestnut (think rich mahogany color from head to toe mane and tail included). And I ended up with my weirdo.

I know it's not the same, but... hey, genetics, amirite?

That's what genetics used to argue, when we thought eye colour was a simple dominant/recessive trait, but that turned out to be wrong.
