nayrt Exactly, it's often hard on a blog.

Plus, normalising the idea that you *ask* before you assume, is polite.

I wish people irl would do that before calling my son "she", because he has curls. Or just use "they".

Yeah, that makes sense too, if they don't post pictures. I was thinking of people who post selfies looking clearly like one particular gender, are cis, and still put the pronouns in. But I guess there are still cases where they might have reasons to do it.
